BBC Radio 1 makes the move this month to Broadcasting House this month, the new home of the commissioning and scheduling teams of BBC One, Two, Three and Four, all of the Visual Factual teams, World Service and BBC News. The station currently broadcasts from Yalding House and has been doing since 1996.

The on-air studios and newsrooms have now been built and are ready for the arrival of Radio 1. The station will occupy the eighth floor of Broadcasting House.

IPE (Broadcast System Integration) will equip six on-air studios which will be shared with Radio 1 and their sister station, 1Xtra. Also Broadcasting House will see the arrival of the Live Lounge area, the Radio 1 office and two Newsbeat news studios.
