Hello BBC Radio 1 addicts! Here’s your next dose of news.

Scott Mills has been at the home of BBC Radio 1 for 14 years after joining at the age of 25 in 1998 and in that time has won a Sony Radio Award for Music Radio Personality of the Year in 2010. He presented his 4-7 show for a total length of 12 years before moving to the 1-4 lunchtime slot after a major shake-up saw Scott swap with afternoon DJ Greg James in order to bring in a younger listenership. Scott provided a unique, direct presenting experience to on average 6 million listeners on their drive home and now does just that in his new lunchtime slot. Famous show features are Innuendo Bingo and Oh, What’s Occurring. He also houses at the time of writing 762, 921 followers on Twitter. Furthermore, when he’s not on the radio he’s presenting The National Lottery Draws.

Scott was a very shy child and faced over the years anxiety attacks, alcohol and weight issues amongst other things. It wasn’t all easy which he shares with us in his book called Love you Bye: My Story. Love you, bye is famous line on his radio show when saying goodbye to callers. This supposedly carries a metaphorical meaning which will be told to us through his book.
